P.S. Temple Green Vidyashram, started in June 2012, is a constituent Unit of P.S. Educational Society, Mylapore, Chennai. The Society has been dedicated to the cause of education since 1905 and this co-educational institution affiliated to the CBSE, has been a hallmark of quality education. The school, which functions under the aegis of the century old P.S.Educational Society, reflects the rich legacy and the vision of its founder Sri Pennathur Subramania Iyer. We believe that human excellence is the true aim of education and therefore focus on not only academics but on activities that foster holistic development in children, as well. P.S. Temple Green Vidyashram is serving the rural areas adjoining Chennai city. The School having an area of more than 3 acres, it has a remarkable infrastructure with excellent ambience– airy and well-lit class rooms, a spacious library, SMART Boards in six class rooms, well-equipped audio-visual room, labs, etc. The massive play area enables the students to acquire the necessary skills and participate actively in the process of learning in a lively atmosphere.
Colonel CR Devanathan an Alumnus of P.S. High School, is a M.Sc (Defence Studies) in Defence Services Staff College, Nilgiris, B.Tech (Civil Engineering in College of Military Engineering, Pune) and M.B.A. He has Served in the army from 1978 to 2006 and Retired from Army on 1.1.2007 and joined DLF Company as a Senior Manager (Coordination) till May 2018. He Volunteered along with a group during 1915 floods in Chennai by way of distribution of relief material to affected areas. As 1972 batch SSLC student from PS High School, he had organised the Golden Jublee Celebration of batch in 19th April 2022 by honoring the old teachers of the school who had taught the 1972 batch. His current interests are school education and technology for quality upgradation.
He is a dynamic leader, reflective practitioner, an enlightened source and a motivator, is a force to reckon with. He holds M.Sc., M.Ed., and M. Phil (Physics) degrees.
Co-curricular activities are a great way for children to learn about the world around them. Apart from regular PET periods, special activities are conducted for 2 periods every Tuesday and Wednesday. Special coaches are deputed to teach
Karate , Silambam , Western Dance, Yoga , Drums , Keyboard Music , Rhapsody Music, Art & Craft/Painting
Students are coached by experts in the field. These activities give children a chance to further exercise their body and mind and develop their personality
